Wilderness House Sunday River

Located at 23 Skiway Road just a mile before South Ridge, this large and unique Wilderness House is built into the recently renovated Sunday River Inn. With rentals of downhill and XC skis and snowshoes in the basement and retail store on the main floor, the building maintains the charm of the famous old inn. Spacious public rooms are available for all sorts of events and just for relaxation before and after a day of skiing, offering a warm hearth, WiFi, appealing sofas, and a priceless view of the precipitous slopes of White Cap. Please stop by to check it out! A new and comfortable Wilderness Cafe is housed in the Sunday River XC Ski Center that provides immediate access to 24 miles of groomed trails through a glorious pine forest. Please feel welcome to pick up a coffee and a sandwich or a local delicacy when you are in the area. And you can drop off your rental skis for the day or your own skis for a professional tune at the famous Matterhorn ski bar just down Skiway Road from Wilderness House. They will be ready for you in the morning. The re-purposed upstairs at Wilderness House, Sunday River, makes office space and generous staff time available to valued partners including Maine Handicapped Skiing, WinterKids, and Moguls Advisory Partnerships.
